Crazy Tooth is based in Nevada and was founded by Ben Hoffman in 2011. Hoffman had previously worked as a designer for International Game Technology and therefore brought with him plenty of experience. The goal from the outset was to create and deliver high-quality gaming content quickly.
To achieve this goal, Hoffman’s approach was to assemble a small team of developers for his new online casino company who, he believed, would be better placed to create games faster than larger studios. CTS started out making land-based slots for the likes of Bally and Caesars Entertainment.
The first of the Crazy Tooth slots to be unveiled was a game called Choco Choco s followed by a string of land-based titles for IGT and Light & Wonder, who were previously known as Scientific Games. However, in 2019 CTS decided to focus its attention on the iGaming market.
Crazy Tooth Studio is fairly unique in that it’s made up of specialists that started out in other industries. The goal was clearly to glean fresh perspectives on how to go about creating innovative slot games. Most of these designers and developers remain at the company to this day.
Despite partnering with major iGaming brands, CTS remains a small enterprise - unusual in an industry where ‘growth’ has become the watchword of so many companies.
There’s also a stubborn refusal to branch out into other areas including live dealer casino games.
Such a single-minded dedication to the development of slots, reveals a company with a clear mission and purpose. And that can only be a good thing for gamers.

Crazy Tooth’s transition from land-based developer to iGaming specialist was helped significantly by a partnership with the Microgaming casino company. The gaming giant had already signed long-term agreements with the likes of Just For the Win and Stormcraft Studios. The deal with CTS saw the Nevada-based studio developing content exclusively for the casino gaming giant.
The years of developing games for bricks-and-mortar audiences had sharpened the team’s development skills, which had also compelled them to develop a specific framework within which to create its games: CTS Arsenal. This tool was put to good use in the creation of their first title for Microgaming, Arctic Valor.
The studio’s six reel debut proved a big hit, marking the beginning of a fruitful partnership with Microgaming that continues to this day. Further Crazy Tooth slots have followed including Queen of the Crystal Rays, the Incredible Balloon Machine and Diamond Force.
These Crazy Tooth games have become renowned for their noticeably high levels of production. Utterly in keeping with the company’s motto of ‘Quality Always Wins’, they continue to rank well on major iGAming sites such as Slot Catalog.
Despite the rebranding of CTS Arsenal (now Incisor), Crazy Tooth continues to innovate. New mechanics and in-game features are continually being introduced such as Respin Insanity (777 Mega Deluxe), Power Path (3 Devils Pinball) and Coinverge (Aureus). Although these mechanics don’t receive anywhere near as much exposure as some of those developed by the larger studios, such a willingness to experiment and try new things will likely hold the company in good stead going forward.
Crazy Tooth pours all of its resources and efforts into developing slots. At present, the studio doesn’t create live or computer-based casino games. Reel-spinning is solely where it’s at for this small outfit.
There are currently 21 Crazy Tooth online slots to play and the number is growing monthly. A handful of their slot releases have been big hits, here are three of the most popular to date.
Build the Bank was unveiled in 2022 and is played out on a 5 x5 grid. Highlights include special reel modifiers, scatter mystery symbols and an innovative feature called Mega Pile that offers prizes of up to 2500x as well as a potential top pay-out of 4000x your stake.
This cartoon-caper was launched in 2020 and features multipliers, a decent RTP of 96.53% and a pay both ways system. Although the game befuddled reviewers upon release, it continues to be popular with players, not to mention the company’s vice president!
Featuring the Big BuildUp engine, 777 SBBD is a retro-styled slot that’s attracted rave reviews from experts and gamers alike. As well as stunning reel animations, the game features a 576 win both ways system, reel expanding wilds with multipliers and randomly awarded prizes.
The Crazy Tooth games portfolio is currently made up of just one jackpot slot: Seven 7s. Featuring an unusual 7 x 1 layout, it boasts a potential pay-out of up to 250,000x the player stake.
Pretty much all Crazy Tooth Games continue to generate interest among gamers. The most popular Crazy Tooth slots so far include:
New Crazy Tooth games include Bubble Beez, Rhino Rolla Rex, Golden Hook, Build the Bank and 777 Super Big Buildup Deluxe.
Pros
Cons
There’s no denying the fact that Crazy Tooth takes a unique approach to slot game development. Recruiting industry outsiders was a clever way to bring fresh ideas and perspectives. And it certainly shows - most Crazy games are highly original both in terms of presentation and playability.
The only main issue that we have relates to the actual slot production rate. One of the main reasons for having such a small team was so that the company was able to create innovative slots quicker than the larger studios. But this hasn’t really panned out. Since transitioning to casino games in 2019, the Crazy Tooth portfolio number is just 21 - not all that prolific. That being said, there was the pandemic to contend with.
With this criticism aside, Crazy Tooth is in a great position. The deal with Microgaming was huge, pretty much-guaranteeing exposure for all Crazy Tooth games upon release. So the future looks very bright, even if the studio’s main focus is just slots. You can find all of the best Crazy Tooth casinos here.
