On March 17, 2022, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) will be beginning their resume review for the corporation’s new President and CEO, following previous chief executive Jim Lightbody’s departure from the company in December 2021.
In the meantime, Lynda Cavanaugh will retain her post as Interim CEO and continue to fulfill its functions.
BCLC provides players some of the best online gambling in Canada and has called upon the resources of Canadian headhunting agency Leaders International to assist in its search for a new chief executive. The new CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation will be responsible for increasing the organization's focus on players' well-being while also increasing revenue for the province of British Columbia.
According to Leaders International, the ideal CEO candidate to look after the real money gambling operation must be “a values-driven leader, skilled in developing and executing organisational strategies and associated operational plans.”
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation are aware of growing competition from other territories, now that the likes of Ontario are opening to the online gambling market. Leader International, go onto say “The role of CEO requires collaborative, transformative and strategic leadership capabilities which includes fostering a culture that embraces co-creation, experimentation and learning while delivering on strategic and business priorities. This includes embracing emerging leadership requirements and capabilities and moving beyond traditional leadership and management approaches to achieve the directions set by the Ministry and Board of BCLC.”
